Job summary

Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to join the Forensic Transitional Unit on a 12-month contract. The role is part-time and based in Whitby, Ontario.

The successful candidate will provide specialized, recovery-focused care within a multidisciplinary team, with flexibility to work across forensic services as needed. Requirements include registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario, current CPR, and a preference for

Qualifications

• Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario in good standing.
• Current CPR – Health Care Provider.
• RPN Mental Health certification within five years of hire.
• Demonstrated knowledge of CNO Standards of Practice.
• Experience in psychiatric/forensic nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized care to patients with complex mental illnesses in the Forensic Program.
• Work as part of an interprofessional team to support recovery-focused care.
• Document care plans, interventions and patient progress.
• Be able to work in the FTU and other areas as patient needs dictate.
