Job summary

TLP in Clonshaugh, Dublin is seeking an experienced Transport Shift Manager to lead day-to-day transport operations within a fast-paced FMCG distribution environment. You will oversee a team of 4 Transport Coordinators and around 20 HGV drivers, driving on-time delivery, safety and compliance.

The role reports to the Transport Operations Manager and requires hands-on leadership, effective recruitment and discipline processes, and strong problem-solving ability.

Qualifications

• Proven transport supervisory or managerial experience in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of transport rules, regulations, and systems.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Strong analytical/problem-solving abilities.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and empower teams.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and friendly working environment for all staff and contractors.
• Lead recruitment, induction, absence management, wellbeing meetings and 1:1 process including disciplinaries.
• Ensure Transport Coordinators are planning routes and ensuring compliance.
• Manage Drivers on shift and provide direction.
• Communicate regularly with transport teams through meetings and briefings.
• Deliver and improve KPIs to maximise service delivery.
• Support the Transport Operations Manager and wider team as required.
