Job summary

The Irish Blue Cross, Limited in Dublin seeks Casual Hours Veterinary Nurses (Ad hoc shifts) to join our nursing team at Inchicore Clinic. These are flexible, ad hoc roles with no fixed or guaranteed weekly hours and no minimum commitment.

We’re building a pool of RVNs to cover annual leave, sickness and gaps in our rota. Applicants must be a qualified veterinary nurse, with the ability to work in a busy clinic, and show kindness, reliability and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Must be a qualified veterinary nurse.
• Comfortable working in a busy clinical environment.
• Reliable, flexible and professional.
• Good clinical, organisational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Nurse clinics, including surgical admissions and discharges, post‑operative checks and routine monitoring.
• Surgical nursing, including pre‑anaesthetic checks, blood sampling, cannula placement, drug preparation and anaesthesia monitoring.
• Clinical nursing including microchipping, dentals and wound care.
• In‑patient care, including monitoring, fluid therapy and medication administration.
• Triage and assist with emergency walk‑in cases.
• Maintain accurate patient records and provide clear handovers.
