Job summary

Spectrum Health is seeking an experienced contractor podiatrist for an flexible evening and weekend schedule in Ireland. The role focuses on autonomous patient care within a multidisciplinary team, with scope for teaching and supervision where appropriate.

The ideal candidate has a Podiatry degree, CORU registration, and active Podiatry Ireland membership, plus indemnity insurance. This role offers autonomy, clinical variety, and opportunities to contribute to patient-centred care.

Qualifications

• BSc or MSc in Podiatry is essential.
• CORU registration is essential.
• Podiatry Ireland membership is essential.
• Professional indemnity insurance is essential.

Responsibilities

• Treat skin ailments of the feet, including verrucae, corns and calluses.
• Assess and treat ingrown toenails and perform nail tidying.
• Provide preventative care for patients with diabetes at risk of foot disease.
• Conduct physical exams and review medical history relevant to feet, ankles, and legs.
• Recommend orthotics and other treatments to improve foot/ankle function.
• Educate patients on foot care and general wellness techniques.
• Collaborate with GPs, physiotherapists and other clinicians as needed.
• Complete case notes, records and CPD documentation.
• Manage stock orders, repairs, and, where appropriate, supervise junior podiatrists.
