Job summary

NOW Group in Ireland is seeking an Adhoc Community Support Staff to provide direct support to participants on the Community Opportunities programme by delivering daily activities that build independent living and social skills.

You will work across classroom and outdoor venues, collaborating with Employment and Training Services to help participants progress on their journey. Garda Vetting will be completed for successful candidates.

Qualifications

• Educated to Leaving Certificate level or above.
• At least one year's experience of supporting people with learning disabilities within a group environment.
• Experience engaging with volunteers.
• Administrative skills with good record keeping.
• Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office suite.
• Clear understanding and articulation of the barriers faced by people with learning disabilities or autism.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centered support to participants on the Community Opportunities Service.
• Support participants within classroom and outdoor venues.
• Encourage individuals to engage in opportunities and build independence skills.
• Promote Volunteer opportunities for group members.
• Build external networks and develop new ones to increase activity options for participants.
• Route train participants to increase independence skills.
• Comply with organisational safeguarding policies.
