Job summary

Global Professional Consultants in Wexford seeks a Fire Engineer with 5+ years’ experience to join its established multidisciplinary engineering team. You will apply fire safety engineering expertise to regulatory compliance and construction inspections across commercial, residential, industrial and public sector projects.

You will prepare Fire Safety Certificates, conduct compliance appraisals to meet Irish Building Regulations and standards, and contribute to project design reviews and site

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Fire Engineering or a relevant engineering discipline.
• Strong knowledge of Irish Building Regulations.
• Experience inspecting fire safety-related construction, including fire doors and passive fire protection systems.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, coordinate and submit detailed Fire Safety Certificate (FSC) applications for new builds, refurbishments and extensions.
• Undertake comprehensive fire safety and compliance appraisals of existing and proposed buildings.
• Carry out construction-stage inspections to verify fire safety provisions are installed to approved designs.
• Assess passive fire protection measures including fire doors, fire stopping, cavity barriers and fire-resistive structures.

Fire Engineer

Location: Wexford

A Fire Engineer with 5+ years’ experience to join an established multidisciplinary engineering consultancy in Wexford. The successful Fire Engineer needs experience in fire safety engineering, regulatory compliance and construction inspections across commercial, residential, industrial and public sector projects. The candidate will play a key role in preparing Fire Safety Certificates, undertaking fire safety and compliance appraisal to ensure safety provisions meet current Irish Building Regulations and relevant standards.

Duties:

• Prepare, coordinate and submit detailed Fire Safety Certificate (FSC) applications for a range of new build, refurbishment and extensions ensuring compliance with Irish Building regulations.
• Undertake comprehensive fire safety and compliance appraisals of existing and proposed buildings, identifying regulatory deficiencies, assessing fire safety risks and recommending appropriate design changes.
• Carry out construction-stage inspections to verify that fire safety provisions are being installed in accordance with approved designs, specifications and relevant standards, identifying defects and coordinating corrective actions with contractors and design teams.
• Assess passive fire protection measures, including fire doors, fire stopping, cavity barrier, fire resistant walls and floors, and the protection of structural elements against fire.

Requirements:

• Fire Engineer with 5+ years’ experience in fire engineering.
• Bachelor’s degree in Fire Engineering or a relevant engineering discipline.
• Strong knowledge of Irish Building Regulations.
• Experience inspecting fire safety-related construction, including fire doors and passive fire protection systems.
