Job summary

Grant Thornton Ireland seeks an experienced investment fund financial reporting lead to manage complex engagements, oversee audits, and develop senior client relationships across jurisdictions. The role requires ACA/ACCA/CPA or equivalent, 8+ years in investment fund reporting, and strong Excel skills, with experience across US GAAP, IFRS and Lux GAAP.

Qualifications

Roles and Responsibilities:


  • Will work with asset management clients on financial reporting engagements, business process reviews and remediation projects, and short-term interim staffing assignments. The role involves working within a team environment to deliver high-quality outcomes and meet client deadlines. Responsibilities may include:

  • Lead fund reporting engagements/projects and maintain overall accountability for quality, risk, profitability and delivery.

  • Review financial statements, disclosures, supporting schedules and audit support packs for completeness and consistency.

  • Review complex accounting and disclosure matters, including valuation, financial instruments, consolidation, related parties and going concern.

  • Own and develop senior client relationships, provide trusted advice and identify new business opportunities.

  • Provide leadership on complex accounting, regulatory and reporting matters across jurisdictions and asset classes.

  • Set portfolio priorities, resource strategy and quality expectations; develop managers and future leaders.

  • Define the AI-enabled financial reporting vision and roadmap in line with firm strategy, client needs and risk appetite.

  • Drive priority AI initiatives and oversee adoption, benefits and emerging risks.

  • Will provide leadership beyond client delivery through workforce planning, resource management, recruitment, performance management, mentoring, succession planning, training, and initiatives aimed at improving team performance, processes, and service delivery.

  • May also be involved in fund accounting engagements and other regulatory reporting activities.


Qualifications & Skills Required:


  • ACA/ACCA/CPA qualified or equivalent IFAC qualification.

  • 8+ years of relevant investment fund financial reporting experience, with at least 3 years of experience leading teams, managing multiple clients, and driving successful delivery across concurrent projects.

  • Deep technical expertise in investment fund financial reporting, with extensive experience reviewing complex financial statements and disclosures under US GAAP, IFRS, and Lux GAAP, complemented by strong commercial acumen and proven client relationship management capabilities.

  • Track record of leading change, managing risk and influencing senior stakeholders.

  • Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills. Strong communicator, highly articulate, with good report writing and Excel skills.

  • Strong understanding of responsible AI principles, confidentiality, and risk management, with the ability to turn emerging AI capabilities into practical and controlled business solutions.


Desired:


  • Experience in fund accounting, including period-end and regulatory reporting.

  • Exposure to ERP and fund accounting systems such as Geneva, Investran, and Yardi, as well as financial statement production and reporting tools including Workiva, Donnelley/DFIN, Confluence, OneStream, and similar platforms

  • Experience leading digital, data, AI, automation, and financial reporting transformation initiatives within financial services, including the development of technology-enabled solutions and client offerings.
