Job summary

Barden is seeking a hands‑on Financial Controller in Cork to own reporting, cash and control, while shaping the finance function as the group grows.

The role delivers statutory and management accounts, enhances Power BI real‑time reporting, and strengthens controls. The successful candidate will work closely with the Managing Director and key stakeholders across manufacturing and distribution.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with post‑qualification experience in a Financial Controller or senior finance role.
• Experience delivering statutory accounts and management accounts.
• Hands‑on with cash flow forecasting and controls.

Responsibilities

• Deliver statutory accounts on time and produce accurate management accounts.
• Build and maintain cash flow forecasts and keep supplier payments on track.
• Develop the existing Power BI reporting into real‑time data for the business.
• Get more from the stock and inventory platform.
• Strengthen financial controls and drive efficiencies across the business.
• Support the MD with analysis and planning as the Group grows.

Barden is delighted to partner with an established Cork-based Group with clear growth ambitions as they look to hire a Financial Controller. This is a hands-on seat working directly with the Managing Director, with the chance to shape the finance function as the business grows.

You will own reporting, control, and cash, and build on the systems already in place so the business has numbers it can rely on.

The business is growing, and the finance function needs to grow with in tandem. We want someone practical who rolls up their sleeves, gives numbers they can trust, and helps make better decisions.

ABOUT THE ROLE

• Deliver statutory accounts on time and produce accurate management accounts.

• Strengthen financial controls and bring in efficiencies with colleagues across the business.
• Support the Managing Director with analysis and planning as the Group grows.

ABOUT THE PERSON

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or CPA).
• Several years of post-qualification experience in a Financial Controller or senior finance role.
• Hands-on experience with statutory accounts, management accounts, and cash flow forecasting.
• Comfortable with Power BI and stock/inventory systems.
• Manufacturing, distribution, or stock-based experience is a plus.
• Practical, direct, and commercially minded, with the credibility to work with people at every level.
