Job summary

Morgan McKinley is partnering with a South Dublin client in the pharmaceutical sector to recruit a part-time Accountant. The role offers 25 hours per week with a hybrid structure (2 days in the office) and a contract term of 7 months, with potential longer-term opportunities.

The successful candidate will handle day-to-day accounting, budgeting, cashflow management and provide insights to support decision-making. Ideally, you are a Fully Qualified Accountant with 3+ years of industry experience.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent).
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, budgeting, cashflow and financial controls.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Clear communicator with non-financial colleagues.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts and variance analysis.
• Support external audits and statutory accounts.
• Ensure timely VAT and regulatory returns.
• Review monthly payment runs.
• Develop annual budgets with VP Finance.

Job description

I am partnering with a client based in South Dublin within the pharmaceutical sector who is looking for a Part-time Accountant to join a small finance team. The role will be 25 hours per week (flexible on working structure) within a hybrid working environment (2 days in the office).

This is a contract role for 7 months (long term potential)

Reporting to the VP of Finance, the role involves day-to-day accounting, budgeting, cashflow management, and providing insight to support decision-making. Ideally the candidate will be Fully Qualified Accountant with 3 plus years industry experience

Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Management & Reporting
• Prepare monthly management accounts, variance analysis, and reports.
• Support external audit processes and prepare statutory accounts in compliance with accounting standards.
• Ensure timely filing of VAT and regulatory returns.
• Review of monthly Payment Runs.
• Strong understanding of Fixed Assets, AP and AR.
• Preparation and Review of monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations.
• Develop annual budgets in collaboration with VP Finance
• Monitor expenditure and revenue against budgets, highlighting variances and recommending corrective actions.

Requirements:

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or equivalent)
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, budgeting, cashflow and financial controls
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Self-motivating and able to work on own initiative
