Job summary

CPL Group, on behalf of a Shannon-based client, is seeking a qualified Financial Accountant to join the finance team. You will prepare monthly management accounts, support the annual close, oversee GL reporting, and assist with audits and compliance.

The role is mainly office-based in Shannon with one day WFH. A 3rd level degree and fully qualified accountant are required, with 1–2+ years industry experience or relevant audit/practice background.

Qualifications

• 3rd level qualified in a relevant discipline.
• Fully qualified accountant.
• 1-2+ years industry experience; audit/practice profile also considered.
• Excellent IT skills including Microsoft applications.
• Excellent attention to detail and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to work on your own initiative and deliver on projects.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate monthly management accounts and support the annual close process.
• Oversee general ledger reporting and review balance sheet reconciliations.
• Develop budgetary forecasts and identify financial trends and performance.
• Assist on internal/external audits and compliance tasks.
• Provide financial information to senior decision makers and run individual projects.

Financial Accountant

Are you an ambitious qualified accountant who is now looking for a new challenge in the Shannon region? Or have you recently completed your full qualifications in an audit/practice environment & are now looking to make your move to industry?

Our client, a key supplier of services to the global aviation sector, have have now engaged with us in CPL to help them recruit a qualified Financial Accountant to join their team & take on this exciting new permanent role.

The Job

As a key part of the finance team team & reporting directly to the Financial Controller, you will cover a wide remit of duties across all aspects of Financial accounting, forecasting & reporting.

More specifically this will include the preparation of accurate monthly management accounts & supporting the annual close process, overseeing general ledger reporting, reviewing balance sheet recs & budgetary forecasts, identifying financial trends & performance, assisting on internal/external audits & compliance, providing financial information to senior decision makers & running your individual projects to successful conclusions.

Your Skills/Experience that we need

• 3rd level qualified in a relevant discipline.
• Fully qualified accountant.
• 1-2+ years industry experience ideally but candidates with a strong audit/practice profile will also be considered.
• Excellent IT skills including a high level of ability in all Microsoft applications.
• Excellent attention to detail & inter-personal skills.
• Proven ability to work on your own initiative & deliver on individual as well as departmental projects.

The Offer

Salary will depend on candidate skills & experience but is expected to range up to approx. 60k + full benefits including pension, health care & annual bonus. This role will be mainly office based in Shannon but with the option of 1 day WFH/remote.
