We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Financial Accountant to manage the day-to-day finance function and provide accurate financial information to support business decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review monthly management accounts, including Profit and Loss Accounts and Balance Sheet reconciliations.
- Prepare cash-flow forecasts, annual budgets and financial projections.
- Manage and support the company’s finance team.
- Provide clear and timely financial information to support commercial and operational decision-making.
- Collect, analyse, investigate and report on financial data, identifying key trends and variances.
- Oversee the maintenance and accuracy of the Sales, Purchases, Bank, Stock, Payroll and General Ledgers.
- Prepare and file PAYE, VAT and other Revenue returns accurately and on time.
- Support the year-end audit and the preparation of statutory financial statements.
- Maintain strong financial controls and ensure compliance with company policies and statutory requirements.
- Work closely with senior management and other departments across the business.
- Support ad-hoc accounting, finance and business improvement projects.
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline, or an equivalent qualification.
- Qualified accountant—ACA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA or equivalent.
- Previous experience preparing management accounts and financial statements.
- Experience managing or supervising a finance team.
- Strong understanding of financial controls, accounting processes and Revenue compliance.
- Retail or multi-site business experience would be an advantage.
- Knowledge of SAP would be an advantage.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
