Job summary

Primark Stores Limited is seeking a Finance Transformation Manager for Strategic Projects on a 12 month fixed-term contract. You will lead major finance transformation initiatives, champion process change, and work with senior stakeholders to deliver strategic programmes that improve efficiency and effectiveness across the finance function.

Qualifications

• Accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent)
• Experience in a Finance environment and with Finance systems
• Accreditation and/or practitioner experience in Transformation, Change Management or Project Management would be advantageous
• Knowledge of transformation through automation, BI and data analytics (e.g., RPA)
• Strong track record delivering change programmes to a finance function
• Experience documenting finance process design and governance across end-to-end processes
• Experience with process standardisation and optimisation, including automation

This exciting role is critical in the planned expansion of our business. The role requires technical expertise, coupled with an articulate, commercially aware professional who has a keen interest in actively contributing to improving the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the Finance Function.

In this role you will bring your unique perspective and will be responsible for supporting the Finance Transformation team onboard new strategic initiatives from the business into all areas of Finance, assessing the process change required whilst ensuring that the commercial objectives of the business are met. This is a pivotal role within the Finance Transformation team where you will have the opportunity to play a key part in the delivery and prioritisation of multi-functional change programmes, as part of the overall strategic finance roadmap. You will play a key part in the delivery of complex and impactful change programmes within Finance, all whilst imaging new capabilities. As part of the Finance Team, you will be joining a fast-paced, commercial environment, with the opportunity to work with key stakeholders within the Primark business. What You’ll Do:

In your role, you'll collaborate with different people across a range of skillsets. Here's a flavour of your day-to-day:

• Support the Finance Transformation team to deliver strategic change for large-scale end-to-end finance processes that aligns to the broader Finance Transformation strategy and Primark's strategic business priorities.
• Act as the Finance process SME for major strategic management initiatives that support Primark's strategic priorities, identifying key finance business requirements when required.
• Work closely alongside designated SME's from across all areas of the business, where relevant, to ensure strategic projects can be delivered successfully.
• Run workstream meetings and co-ordinate SMEs to deliver day to day requirements.
• Responsible for finance workstream deliverables, and to align with other workstreams on dependencies.
• Coordinate detailed design and delivery of relevant finance processes in a seamless fashion, by collaborating with the key process owners and senior leadership across the business.
• Identify improvement opportunities to design and deliver effective, efficient, and where applicable automated processes that will enhance business outcomes, reduce risk, systemise the control environment and improve user experience.
• Understand established policies across all of Primark's finance processes and identify opportunities to improve the operation of these policies across the end-to-end process.
• Drive consistency by ensuring processes are documented by reference to the ABF FCF General Accounting and Control Environment.
• Build successful relationships with key stakeholders outside Finance including Procurement, Legal, Technology, external stakeholders and others when required.
• Develop, deliver, and manage communication, stakeholder, training, and adoption management plans.
• Provide input, document requirements, and support the design and delivery of training programs.
• Demonstrate flexibility to support the Finance Transformation team on various projects and change initiatives as and when they arise.

• Accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent)
• Experience working in a Finance environment and with Finance systems essential.
• Accreditation and/or practitioner experience of Transformation, Change Management or Project Management e.g., APMG, PMI CAPM/PMP, Lean Six Sigma, Agile Product Owner, etc. would be advantageous.
• Knowledge of transformation through business process change, automation (incl. RPA), Business Intelligence and data analytics would be advantageous. E.g., applications such as Automation Anywhere, Alteryx, MS Power Automate etc.
• Strong track record of successfully delivering change programmes to a finance function.
• Strong knowledge of functional process design including prior experience documenting process flows and ideally first-hand operational familiarity of finance processes in Primark.
• Experience working in process standardisation and optimisation, preferably with knowledge of RPA / automation.
• Pro-active about managing change and challenging existing procedures and processes to achieve best practice.
• Experience managing senior stakeholders, providing constructive challenge and robust advice to senior management.
• Process oriented, with good experience of delivering change across processes and systems.
• Experience working on transformation programmes/change programmes desired.
• In depth knowledge of Primark ways of working and functional areas.
