Job summary

UBQ.io is seeking a Finance Developer to build an internal web platform that supports portfolio management for finance and operations teams. You will own features end-to-end from data queries to the user interface, combining finance expertise with technology.

Responsibilities include designing platform features, translating financial methods into robust backend logic, writing efficient SQL for a cloud data warehouse, and collaborating with stakeholders to deliver reliable improvements.

Qualifications

• Solid professional experience with Python for backend services or data applications.
• Strong understanding of financial concepts: positions, P&L attribution, NAV, exposure and cost basis.
• Comfort writing non-trivial SQL, ideally on BigQuery or another cloud data warehouse.
• Strong eye for detail and habit of testing and reconciling numbers.
• Clear communication and ability to validate requirements with finance teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain platform features including summary metrics, interactive tables and data visualisations.
• Translate financial methodologies into backend logic and ensure accuracy against source systems.
• Write and optimise SQL queries against our cloud data warehouse.
• Ensure fast, reliable platform performance through caching and error handling.
• Collaborate with finance and operations stakeholders to gather requirements and implement improvements.
