Job summary

CMS Distribution Limited in Ireland is seeking a Finance Officer to join a fast-paced finance team, supporting General Ledger activities and the preparation of management accounts. You will review and analyse financial transactions across multiple areas, including GL, AP, AR, banking and VAT compliance.

The role focuses on accuracy and integrity of financial information and offers exposure to monthly reporting, system updates and process improvements within a dynamic environment at CMS

Qualifications

• Relevant Bachelor’s degree, Accounting Technician qualification or experience in lieu of degree.
• Excellent Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience managing a significant workload and delivering accurate results.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts and accruals/prepayments.
• Assist in overhead analysis and fixed asset register maintenance including depreciation journals.
• Analyse actual costs vs accruals and support balance sheet reconciliations.
• Support month-end close and the preparation of business unit P&Ls and forecasts.
• Assist with year-end audit, statutory accounts, and project work.
• Support finance systems updates and process improvements.

Job Purpose Summary

We are seeking a Finance Officer to join a fast-paced and dynamic Finance team, supporting General Ledger activities and the preparation of management accounts. The role will involve reviewing and analysing financial transactions across multiple areas, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, banking and treasury, and VAT compliance. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information across the business.

Role Responsibilities

Management Accounts Preparation

• Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts
• Assist in Preparation of accruals and prepayments
• Assist in Overhead Analysis
• Assist in maintainence of Fixed Asset Register and post monthly depreciation journal
• Assist in the analysis of Actual costs V Accruals
• Assist in the preparation and analysis of balance sheet accounts reconciliations
• Assist Team leads and Senior Finance managers as required.

Monthly Reporting

• Assist month-end closing processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting
• Assist in the preparation of business unit P&Ls
• Assist in the analysis of overhead rolling forecasts.and budget v actual
• Assisting with the year-end audit and statutory accounts by provided required documentation
• Assisting in special projects as assigned

Systems Update

• Support the maintenance of the finance reporting systems
• Various Systems updates and process improvements

Additional Responsibilities

Skills & Personal Attributes

• Relevant Bachelors degree, Accounting Technician qualification or experience in lieu of degree
• SAP Accounting Software experience would be desirable
• Experience of managing a significant workload
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
