Job summary

Morgan McKinley is partnering with a banking organisation to recruit an experienced Finance Manager in Ireland. The role suits a Chartered Accountant with a strong financial services background, particularly in regulatory reporting and tax.

You will own tax and regulatory returns for the Irish branch, deliver month‑end P&L and balance sheet analysis, and advise on costs and profitability. Collaboration with Compliance, Risk and Legal is essential to implement regulatory changes.

Qualifications

• ACA/ACCA/CPA qualified Accountant with a minimum of 5 years post qualified experience.
• Experience in financial services or banking.
• Proficient user of Microsoft Dynamics
• Experience of financial reporting requirements for the Central Bank of Ireland.
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong communication skills both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Complete tax returns, tax control framework and related governance.
• Responsible for financial regulatory returns and governance framework maintenance.
• Provide expert advice for Tax and Finance matters for the Irish Branch.
• Complete financial regulatory returns to the Central Bank of Ireland.
• Review business unit P&L with leaders; provide insights to improve performance.
• Collaborate with Country Manager on P&L and cost strategies for the Branch.
• Deliver month-end journals and P&L / balance sheet analysis.
• Provide P&L forecasting as required.
• Coordinate with Group on accounting registration codes for units.
• Complete subsidiary annual financial statements and support external audit.
• Support operation risk managers with business risk control procedures.
• Engage with Risk teams on Tax Risk Assessments.
• Work with Compliance, Risk and Legal on regulatory changes.
• Ad hoc duties as required.

The role:

• Completion of all tax returns, tax control framework and the related governance.
• Responsible for financial regulatory returns and the maintenance of the governance framework.
• Provision of expert advice for all Tax and Finance related matters for the Irish Branch.
• Completion of all financial regulatory returns to the Central Bank of Ireland
• Formal review of business unit P&L performance with department leaders providing supporting analysis and insights to drive improved performance and decision making.
• Work closely with the Country Manager on profit and loss and costs strategy and plans for the Branch.
• Deliver month end journals and month end P&L and Balance sheet analysis
• Provide P&L forecasting as required.
• Co-ordinate with Group function in accounting registration codes maintenance for various units
• Completion of subsidiary annual financial statements and external audit.
• Support operation risk managers in drafting business risk control procedures to highest standards
• Responsible for Tax Risk Assessments and engaging proactively with colleagues in Risk teams.
• Collaborating with the Compliance, Risk and Legal teams to ensure seamless implementation of regulatory required changes for Tax and Finance.
• Ad hoc duties as required.
