Job summary

Schneider Electric is seeking a Field Service Technician to deliver installation, commissioning, maintenance and repair services across the Secure Power product portfolio. This role involves travel to customer sites and participation in a 24/7 on-call rota after training.

You will diagnose electrical/electronic issues, oversee subcontractors, and provide clear technical guidance to customers while upholding safety standards and Schneider Electric requirements.

Field Service Technician - Generalist Service Representative I
Schneider Electric – Secure Power Services Division

Position Type: Full‑Time

Position Overview

Schneider Electric is seeking a highly motivated and technically proficient Field Service Technician to support our Secure Power Services Division. This position is responsible for delivering professional installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair services across Schneider Electric’s Secure Power product portfolio. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to service excellence, technical accuracy, and operational safety.

Responsibilities
  • On‑Site Service Delivery

Provide high‑quality technical support to customers, ensuring all work is performed in accordance with Schneider Electric standards, procedures, and safety requirements.

  • Installation & Commissioning

Oversee and coordinate the work of subcontractors to ensure installations meet specified requirements.

Conduct system commissioning activities independently, confirming full functionality and compliance.

  • Maintenance & Corrective Repairs

Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and respond to unplanned service needs for UPS systems, STS, PDUs, battery systems, and associated monitoring solutions.

Diagnose technical issues and implement effective corrective actions.

  • Customer Support

Provide customers with clear technical guidance, best‑practice recommendations, and system improvement opportunities.

Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure a positive service experience

  • Business Development Support

Identify potential opportunities for additional services, upgrades, or lifecycle enhancements to promote the business growth.

  • On‑Call Rota

Participate in the 24/7 on‑call rota (post‑training), attending customer sites at short notice to resolve urgent issues.

The candidate will be part of a team reporting to the Secure Power Team Leader and will be required to travel to the customer site to perform their tasks, the applicant must be willing to travel and stay away from home from time to time – depending on the location and duration of works. As the Schneider Electric installed base will need to be supported countrywide. The candidate must have good communication skills as they will be interacting with a wide range of people.

Candidate Profile
  • A background in electrical engineering, electronics, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong diagnostic, analytical, and problem‑solving skills
  • You must have an Electrical/Electronic Engineering Diploma/Degree.
  • Product specific training will be provided at Schneider Electric’s training centres in France; the candidate must be able and willing to travel to these locations.
  • Experience of Schneider Electric products advantageous.
  • Relevant experience working in an electrical environment would advantageous.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work both independently and collaboratively in customer environments.
  • Must comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods of time
  • Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheets, graphics, etc.
  • Must be able to lift and carry heavy objects up to 50 pounds
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills.
  • A valid full driver's license.

For this Ireland based position, the expected pay range is EUR 43,200 - EUR 64,800 per year. This pay range includes base pay and short-term incentives. The compensation range for this full‑time position applies to candidates located within the Ireland. Our pay ranges are determined by the local market.
