Job summary

Executive Edge Citywest in Ireland is seeking a Field Service Engineer to install, commission, service and maintain industrial adhesive equipment across Ireland and occasionally the UK. You will travel to customer sites, diagnose faults, perform preventative maintenance and provide on‑site technical support.

The role requires a solid engineering qualification, a proven hands‑on mechanical aptitude, excellent customer service and communication skills, together with a full clean driving licence

Qualifications

• Engineering qualification such as Level 6-8 or higher.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with fault‑finding and diagnostic skills.
• 3+ years experience servicing or maintaining industrial equipment.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Full clean driving licence.

Responsibilities

Field Service Engineer Ireland

Our client, a well-established engineering business, is looking to recruit a Field Service Engineer to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer who enjoys working with customers, solving technical problems and developing their engineering skills. The role will involve travel throughout Ireland, with occasional travel to the UK and some overnight stays required.

The Role:

• Install, commission, service and maintain industrial hot melt and cold glue application equipment.
• Carry out fault finding, troubleshooting, repair and preventative maintenance on customer equipment.
• Provide professional technical support and advice to customers on‑site.
• Build strong customer relationships through a high level of service and technical support.
• Complete service reports and maintain accurate records using field service management systems.
• Support equipment and spare parts sales by identifying customer requirements and opportunities.
• Assist with equipment sales and customer demonstrations where required.
• Maintain appropriate stock of spare parts and equipment for field service activities.
• Develop knowledge of adhesive technologies and customer applications through training and practical experience.
• Participate in ongoing technical and commercial training programmes.
• Ensure all work is carried out safely and to a high professional standard.
• Travel throughout Ireland and occasionally to the UK, including overnight stays as required.

The Person:

• Relevant engineering qualification, such as an Engineering / Mechanical Apprenticeship or Level 6, 7, 8 or higher engineering qualification.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with good fault‑finding and diagnostic skills.
• Ideally 3+ years experience servicing or maintaining industrial equipment.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• A willingness to learn and develop technically, particularly in relation to adhesive technologies and customer applications.
• Ability to work independently, manage your own workload and prioritise effectively.
• Good IT skills and the ability to use field service management software.
• Full clean driving licence.
