Merchants Quay Ireland is seeking a dedicated Family Support Specialist to join the Northeast Family Support Service. Based in the Louth-Meath counties, you will provide evidence‑based support for families affected by a loved one’s addiction, delivering direct support, assessments, and coordinated care plans within Dundalk/Drogheda outreach.

This is a 37.5 hours/week role with some evening work. Successful candidates will have a Level 7 qualification in Social Care or related field, frontline

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 7 qualification in Social Care/Social Studies, Counselling or related field.
• 1+ years frontline experience in addiction-related services or family support.
• Experience in group facilitation.
• Knowledge of evidence-based family support approaches (e.g., 5-Step, CRAFT).
• Full clean driver’s license.

Responsabilités

• Directly support individuals affected by a family member’s addiction.
• Conduct comprehensive assessments to understand family needs.
• Develop one-to-one care plans and provide advocacy.
• Coordinate with health services and community organisations.
• Maintain accurate client records and prepare reports.
• Support recruitment, induction, and supervision of volunteers.
