Merchants Quay Ireland is seeking a Project Worker (Drug & Alcohol Worker) for the Midlands DATS Service, based in Longford/Westmeath. The role is a 37.5-hour week on a contract of indefinite duration, delivering mobile outreach, education, and treatment supports to service users and families.

It requires a Level 7 qualification (or equivalent) in social care or related fields, MI/CBT training, and at least 2 years' experience in addiction or related services; a full clean driver's license is

Qualifikationen

• Relevant qualification (minimum Level 7 or equivalent) in social care, addiction, nursing, community, or youth work.
• Training in Motivational Interviewing (MI), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Relapse Prevention.
• 2 years' relevant work experience in addiction, community development, health and social care, education, or related fields.
• Experience in crisis support, key working, case management, and group facilitation.

Aufgaben

• Provide mobile needle and syringe exchange across the Midland region.
• Offer rehabilitation and aftercare supports to service users exiting treatment programs or prison.
• Provide education, information, advocacy, and treatment support to service users and their families.
• Engage with local drug and alcohol users, linking them to relevant services.
• Assess service users' needs, matching them with evidence-based interventions and other agencies.
• Develop integrated care plans and ensure case management across the continuum of care.
