Job summary

Collins McNicholas Group is seeking a Maintenance Caretaker to join a busy facilities team. You will perform general maintenance, repairs and upkeep of buildings and grounds to maintain a safe, clean working environment.

The role covers carpentry, plumbing, painting, outdoor area upkeep, waste management, and liaison with external contractors. A full clean Irish driving licence is required, and you should be able to work independently with a strong focus on health and safety.

Qualifications

• Experience in general maintenance, facilities, caretaking, or a similar hands-on role.
• Practical experience using hand and power tools.
• Basic knowledge of building repairs, plumbing and general upkeep.
• Full, clean Irish driving licence.
• Good communication, teamwork and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and carry out physically demanding tasks.
• Strong awareness of workplace health and safety.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general building maintenance, including minor carpentry, plumbing repairs, painting and furniture adjustments.
• Maintain outdoor areas, including pathways, courtyards, car parks and grounds.
• Perform seasonal maintenance, including gritting and snow clearing.
• Manage waste disposal areas and maintain high housekeeping standards.
• Liaise with external contractors, assist with quotations and support permit-to-work procedures.
• Log maintenance requests and maintain accurate records of completed work.
• Identify and report maintenance issues, ensuring timely resolution.
• Adhere to all Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) procedures.
• Support the wider facilities team with additional maintenance duties as required.
