Job summary

Baker Tilly International in Cork is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join our ABAS and Outsourcing team. You will manage client bookkeeping, perform reconciliations, and contribute to timely VAT returns for a diverse portfolio of clients.

Proficiency with Xero, Sage or QuickBooks and Dext is required to maintain accurate records and support team success. We pride ourselves on a friendly, supportive environment that values professional development, collaboration and delivering high‑quality

Qualifications

• Experience using Xero, Sage, Big Red Book, QuickBooks.
• Knowledge of core apps like Dext.
• Proficient with Excel, Word and email systems.
• Ability to draft professional letters and emails clearly.
• Able to work well in a team or independently.

Responsibilities

• Carry out bookkeeping tasks for clients as directed.
• Take on projects to correct clients bookkeeping systems.
• Perform bank reconciliations for all clients.
• Perform all relevant control account reconciliations as directed.
• Use Dext and other apps to improve the efficiency of the work we do.
• Prepare VAT returns ready for review by the client manager.
• Plan own time to maximum efficiency, manage personal time and working practices to maximize profitability and protect the good reputation of the firm.
• Maintain the highest standards of personal organisation.
• Consistently achieve good feedback from clients and staff by delivering a high standard of client service both internally and externally.
• Comply with the firm’s policies, procedures and ethical standards.
• Fulfil ongoing obligation to Continuing Professional Development and take an active role in own personal development
