Job summary

Post Summary: The successful candidate for the Executive Director role of the newly funded Rinn Advanced Therapies, will have a proven track record of exceptional leadership, senior management and operational experience, preferably in the immune cell therapy sector (academic and/or industrial). They will bring desirable expertise in product development, regulatory strategy, clinical translation and biomanufacturing, alongside outstanding commercial acumen to drive partnerships and sustainable funding models.

The Executive Director will be responsible for strategic and operational leadership to advance the Centre’s mission, strengthen interdisciplinary collaboration, and position Ireland as a global leader in advanced therapies. The Executive Director will be accountable for developing and delivering the strategic vision of the Centre’s operations, research, innovation, commercialization, industry engagement and stakeholder management while ensuring the smooth execution of all non-research activities.

This position has key responsibilities for ensuring Research and Innovation in Personalized Immune Cell Therapeutics through the creation and development of a diverse and sustainable ecosystem of Academic/Industrial/Clinical research collaboration, industry funding and commercialisation activities and identifying/managing risks regarding the attraction of industry funding across multiple industries in the long term.

Post status: Specific Purpose Contract

Employment is offered for the duration of the Rinn Advanced Therapies centre/project as all activities are directly linked to the scope and duration of the centre. Termination of this contract will occur in the event of on completion of the work, or in an event that that centre activities have concluded, or the funding stream being terminated or withdrawn by the funding agency.

Hours of Post: 35 hours per week

Salary: This appointment will be made on the Senior Administrative 2 Salary Scale (€112,225 - €150,032 per annum) at a point in line with current Government pay policy. monthly/weekly payscales. (tcd.ie)
