Job summary

ALS Minerals, with its European hub in Loughrea, Co. Galway, is hiring General Laboratory Operators for the evening shift. No prior lab experience is required as full training is provided; candidate will join a global team focusing on quality and safety.

Based in Loughrea, the role involves following procedures, handling samples, and maintaining accurate records. The contract length is 12 months and candidates may develop new skills in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Full or partial secondary education with the ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Experience in a laboratory is desirable but not required; training provided.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety rules and wear protective equipment at all times.
• Advise Supervisor if you see anything suspicious or potentially hazardous or if you see possibilities for improvement.
• Perform work as assigned by the Laboratory Manager or supervisor and report completion.
• Follow written methods and procedures; when not available, follow oral instructions from the Laboratory Manager or supervisor.
• Check and maintain order of samples and their identification; report any deviations.
• Handle samples to preserve identification and prevent loss, contamination or confusion; report accidents.
• Monitor quality, note anomalies, and report to the Laboratory Manager or Supervisor.
• Fill in forms and worksheets and sign/initial records.
• Operate equipment per manuals; check calibration status; report anomalies; keep workspace clean.
• Bring improvement considerations to the Laboratory Manager or Quality Manager.
• Complete all required records per ISO 17025 and INAB requirements.
