Job summary

Avoca Central Bakery & Kitchen Bray is seeking a Packaging Supervisor to manage the day-to-day packaging operation. You will lead a packaging team, ensure HACCP/GMP compliance, maintain hygiene, and drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced food production environment.

The role requires 1–3+ years in leadership within food production, experience with packaging machinery, and strong attention to detail. Applicants must have the right to work in Ireland. Monday to Saturday, 2pm–11pm shift.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a food production or manufacturing packaging environment, preferably in a supervisory role.
• Strong understanding of GMP, HACCP, and food safety standards.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Proficient in MS Office for reporting and record-keeping.
• Attention to detail and ability to spot quality issues.
• Experience with automated packaging machinery.
• Food Safety/HACCP Certification.

Responsibilities

• Lead, train, and develop packaging staff, fostering high performance and adhering to health and safety policies.
• Efficiently pack, seal, and label food products, often at high speeds.
• Execute production plans, ensure department and equipment efficiency, and meet tight deadlines.
• Ensure strict adherence to Food Safety, Hygiene, and HACCP regulations and quality specifications.
• Establish inventories and FIFO, manage shelf-life controls.
• Inspect products for quality and log defects.
• Maintain GMPs and hygiene standards at all times.
• Mentor staff and ensure safe PPE and procedures.
• Supervise and train new operatives to meet daily output targets.
• Drive improvements in production and packaging processes.
• Maintain detailed records of production, packaging and QC checks.
• Investigate quality incidents and perform root cause analysis.
• Resolve on-floor technical or operational issues promptly.
• Ensure staff are aware of all Health and Safety regulations.
