Job summary

BNY in Dublin is seeking a highly analytical Credit Risk Manager to join our European Credit Risk team. You will provide independent risk oversight, challenge, and governance across exposures and ensure decisions are well supported by rigorous analysis.

You will evaluate borrower and portfolio risk, monitor trends, and liaise with business teams to document conclusions and escalate issues promptly. A minimum five years in credit risk and a degree in finance or related field are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance or related field; advanced degree or certification preferred.
• Minimum of five years in credit risk management or related areas.
• Strong understanding of credit risk fundamentals and portfolio monitoring.
• Knowledge of risk appetite, governance, and regulatory expectations.
• Ability to analyze complex credit information and communicate clearly to senior stakeholders.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide independent review, challenge, and approval recommendations for credit proposals and reviews.
• Assess borrower, counterparty, portfolio, and concentration risks to ensure alignment with risk appetite.
• Partner with business teams to evaluate requests and ensure documentation is complete.
• Monitor portfolios for emerging risks, trends, and breaches; escalate as needed.
• Support governance activities, including reporting, committee materials, and regulatory inquiries.
• Contribute to policy and control enhancements to strengthen risk management practices.
• Utilize data, analytics, and technology to improve risk identification and reporting.
• Build relationships across Credit Risk, Finance, Legal, Operations, and Technology.
• Ensure compliance with ECB, Central Bank of Ireland, EBA, and PRA guidance where applicable.
