Job summary

Qualifications

• Experience as Estimator in the construction industry.
• Strong understanding of drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
• Proven ability in quantity take-offs, measurements, project costing and tender preparation.
• Strong commercial awareness, including margins, budgets and risk management.
• Experience sourcing, assessing and negotiating supplier and subcontractor quotations.

Responsibilities

• Review tender enquiries, drawings, specifications and project documentation.
• Carry out quantity take-offs and prepare Bills of Quantities and detailed cost estimates.
• Develop accurate pricing and rate build-ups while ensuring target margins are achieved.
• Obtain, review and negotiate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Prepare and submit competitive tenders within required deadlines.
• Identify commercial risks, opportunities and potential cost-saving measures.

• Liaise with clients and main contractors throughout the tender process.
• Monitor live tenders and maintain an overview of the project pipeline.

As our European operations continue to grow, we're looking for an experienced Estimator to join our team and play a key role in pricing new work and securing major construction projects.

The role offers remote or hybrid working, or the option to work from our headquarters in County Wicklow. We welcome applications from candidates based in Ireland or the UK, with travel to Crown HQ and project sites as and when required.

The Role

Working closely with the Commercial Director and wider Pre-Construction, Design and Operations teams, you'll manage the estimating process from initial tender review through to submission and project award. You'll prepare accurate and competitive estimates, assess supplier and subcontractor quotations, and identify commercial risks and opportunities to ensure projects are commercially viable.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Reviewing tender enquiries, drawings, specifications and project documentation.

About You

We're looking for a commercially minded and organised Estimator with strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tenders in a fast-paced construction environment.

• Previous experience as an Estimator within the construction industry.
• Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
• Proven experience in quantity take-offs, measurements, project costing and tender preparation.
• Strong commercial awareness, including margins, budgets and risk management.
• Experience sourcing, assessing and negotiating supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• Excellent communication, organisational and time-management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and relevant estimating or construction software.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with project teams.
• Must be based in Ireland or the UK.
• Must hold a full, clean, valid driving licence.
• Must hold a valid passport and be available to travel to project sites and Crown HQ as required.
• Experience pricing large-scale commercial, industrial or hyperscale data centre projects.
• Knowledge of specialist roofing and cladding systems, materials and installation methods.
