Job summary

Crown is hiring a Technical Manager to take ownership of the technical and pre-construction stages of projects in Ireland, coordinating design, procurement and handover to site operations. The role collaborates with Design, Commercial, Procurement and Operations teams to ensure compliant, viable projects.

The ideal candidate has a third-level engineering-related qualification and 3+ years in building envelope, façade or cladding.

Qualifications

• Third-level qualification in Engineering, Architectural Technology, Project Management or related.
• 3+ years’ experience with a building envelope, façade or cladding contractor.
• Knowledge of building envelope systems and drawings.
• Familiarity with relevant building regulations and manufacturer requirements.
• Experience with digital project collaboration tools.

Responsibilities

• Manage technical design and submittal process aligned with project programmes.
• Review drawings, specs and calculations for buildability and compliance.
• Identify value engineering opportunities with the Commercial team.
• Coordinate with internal teams, clients, consultants and suppliers to resolve queries.
• Monitor project progress and escalate risks early.
• Support procurement with material take-offs and technical docs.
• Coordinate project handovers to site operations.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a Technical Manager to join our team, taking ownership of the technical and pre-construction stages of projects, from award through design coordination and procurement to handover to site operations.

Working closely with our Design, Commercial, Procurement and Operations teams, you will play a key role in ensuring projects are technically compliant, commercially viable and ready for successful delivery.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with building envelope experience who enjoys solving technical challenges, coordinating multiple stakeholders and driving projects forward.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Managing the technical design and submittal process, ensuring approvals and deliverables are achieved in line with project programmes.
• Reviewing drawings, specifications and calculations to ensure designs are compliant, buildable and fit for purpose.
• Identifying value engineering opportunities in collaboration with the Commercial team.
• Coordinating with internal teams, clients, consultants and suppliers to resolve technical queries and keep projects moving.
• Monitoring project progress, identifying risks and escalating potential issues at an early stage.
• Supporting procurement through accurate material take-offs and technical documentation.
• Coordinating project handovers, ensuring site teams receive the information and documentation needed for successful delivery.

What We’re Looking For

• A third-level qualification in Engineering, Architectural Technology, Project Management or a related discipline.
• 3+ years’ experience with a building envelope, façade or cladding contractor.
• Strong knowledge of building envelope systems, technical drawings and specifications.
• An understanding of relevant building regulations and manufacturer requirements.
• Familiarity with common data environments and digital project collaboration tools.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills, attention to detail and a proactive, solutions-focused approach.
