Jones Engineering, an established engineering contractor, seeks an Estimating Data Analyst to optimize reporting infrastructure and ensure data integrity across projects.

You will collate estimating data, design ETL pipelines, and build Power BI dashboards while collaborating with IT, procurement, and engineering to drive data-driven decisions. A background in data analytics and 5+ years experience are required.

Qualifications

• Degree in data analytics/science or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years in a relevant analytical or technical role.
• Advanced Excel with VBA, PivotTables and LOOKUPs.
• Strong SQL, DAX, Python and C# abilities for data analysis.

Responsibilities

Job Description

Jones Engineering is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Estimating Systems & Data Analyst to join our team. This role offers the opportunity to support our strategic analysis, optimising our reporting infrastructure, and ensuring data integrity across our construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Support the day-to-day collation, analysis, and interpretation of Estimating data from various stakeholders.
• Design and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines processing data from multiple source systems including SQL Server, FileMaker, and third-party APIs
• Build and refactor modular Python and R data pipelines for standardisation of time dependent reporting
• Ensure accurate, timely data validation and processing across our Estimating processes eg deduplication, data validation logic across multi-entity data sets.
• Partner with IT, Procurement, Engineering, Finance and wider business to streamline data submissions and resolve data discrepancies.
• Help build, maintain, and monitor performance dashboards and present findings to key stakeholders.
• Lend your analytical expertise to relevant digital transformation projects as required.
• Partner with IT department on the management of transport lifecyles across various (DEV-QAS-PROD) environments for datawarehouse and reporting.
• Build and maintain Power BI dashboards for operational reporting
• Understanding of Azure based data infrastructure including sharepoint Integrations
• Create and maintain documentation for pipelines, data dictionaries, and report specifications
• Apply data governance standards across reporting solutions

Skills & Qualifications

• A degree in Data Analytics/Science, Engineering or a related field, or of equivalent industry experience working directly with data.
• 5+ years of professional experience in a relevant analytical or technical role
• Advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities (VBA Coding Pivot Tables, LOOKUPs, and advanced features).
• Strong technical skills in SQL, DAX, Python and C# with the ability to apply these tools for data analysis and solution development.
• An analytical mindset with a passion for problem-solving and overcoming challenges.
• Prior exposure to SAP or similar ERP systems, data management software, or data visualization tools (e.g. Power BI) is advantageous.
• Approachable, patient, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team and across departments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate data into clear insights for multidisciplinary project teams.
