Job summary

Dawn Meats Carrolls Cross in Waterford seeks an experienced Environmental Officer to lead site environmental and sustainability initiatives. You will manage day-to-day environmental activities and drive improvements within a large manufacturing operation.

Reporting to the Environmental Manager and Site Operations Manager, the role focuses on wastewater treatment, data capture, KPI reporting, and maintaining ISO50001 and ISO14001 systems across the site.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills with fluent English.
• The ability to work as part of a team and independently.
• Proficient IT skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Operate the onsite Wastewater Treatment Plant.
• Perform lab analysis on effluent and adjust setpoints based on results.
• Complete daily/weekly/monthly records.
• Capture data relating to effluent, energy, water, waste and sustainability metrics.
• Develop KPIs for internal and external reporting.
• Manage waste streams leaving site and maintain an online register.
• Assist Environmental Manager to maintain and improve ISO50001 Energy management system on site.
• Assist Environmental Manager to maintain and improve ISO14001 Environmental management system on site.

Role Summary

Dawn Meats is one of Europe's leading beef and lamb processing companies with locations across Ireland, UK, France and continental Europe employing over 7,000 employees. We currently have opportunities for an experienced Environmental officer to join our production team in Carrolls Cross, Co. Waterford. The successful candidate will be responsible for all environmental disciples within the site. This will involve the day-to-day management of all environmental related activities along with a series of environmental and sustainability-based projects.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be based in our Dawn Meats Carrolls Cross, primary production plants and will be responsible for:

• Understanding/operating onsite Wastewater Treatment Plant.
• Performing lab analysis on effluent to demonstrate healthy performance and adjusting setpoints/flows based on results.
• Completing daily/weekly/monthly records.
• Capturing all relevant data relating to effluent, energy, water, waste, and sustainability measure.
• Formatting and analysing all the relevant data and developing KPI's for internal and external reporting.
• Manage all waste streams leaving site and maintain an online register of same.
• Assist Environmental Manager to Maintain and improve ISO50001 Energy management system on site.
• Assist Environmental Manager to Maintain and improve ISO140001 Environmental management system on site.

Qualifications

The ideal Candidate will have or demonstrate:
