Job summary

Winthrop Technologies, based in Dublin, Ireland, is seeking an Environmental Manager to lead site-based environmental management for major data centre projects. You will draft plans, review methods, and train staff on environmental and social issues while coordinating LEED certification activities with clients.

The role requires a qualified environmentalist with extensive construction sector experience, and a strong track record in site leadership across high-tech, industrial, pharma, or data

Responsibilities

• Draft and review the project Environmental Management Plan and work with the site team to integrate requirements
• Review all construction method statements to ensure environmental risks are mitigated
• Provide training to site staff regarding environmental and social issues
• Identify and implement spill kit provision and training requirements
• Coordinate LEED certification evidence and site inspections with the client and LEED practitioner

Winthrop is a dedicated Data Centre Construction company providing turnkey solutions to our clients, headquartered in Dublin and delivering throughout Europe. As an engineering focused organisation, Winthrop has grown to become one of the leading and most trusted companies in our sector. We are currently constructing multiple Turnkey Data Centre Projects in 9 different European Countries, equating to over 320MW of IT load in flight.

We are pleased to announce that we are currently seeking an Environmental Manager. This position will be site-based in Dublin, Ireland.

Responsibilities

• Draft and review the project Environmental Management Plan and work with the site team to integrate the requirements effectively in conjunction with the client’s requirements and Winthrop’s wider corporate sustainability goals.
• Review all construction method statements, processes and procedures to ensure they have considered all environmental risks and mitigate them appropriately.
• Provide training to site staff regarding environmental and social issues
• Identify and implement spill kit provision and training requirements
• Perform (alongside H&S and Site Management) emergency practice scenarios, identify weaknesses in any existing approach and improvement plans
• Ensure that all drains and potential entry points to watercourses are protected. Assess that all onsite discharges to watercourses should run clean water only and take mitigating actions if required
• Liaise with Client LEED practitioner, coordinate collection of documentary evidence and site inspections to achieve targeted LEED certification of the project
