Job summary

Winthrop Technologies Ltd, a Dublin-based environmental-focused construction company delivering data centre projects across Europe, is seeking an Environmental Manager for a site-based role in Dublin, Ireland.

You will draft and implement the Environmental Management Plan, review method statements for environmental risk, train site staff, and work with the client and LEED team to achieve certification. Prior experience in High-Tech or Data Centre projects and strong site leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Qualified Environmentalist.
• 7 years’ experience in the construction sector.
• Experience working on High‑Tech, Industrial, Pharma, or Data Centre projects.
• Strong background in site leadership.

Responsibilities

• Draft and review the Environmental Management Plan for the project.
• Review construction method statements for environmental risks.
• Provide training to site staff on environmental and social issues.
• Identify spill kit provision and training requirements.
• Participate in emergency practice scenarios with H&S and Site Management.
• Ensure drains and discharges meet environmental requirements.
• Coordinate LEED documentation with the client LEED practitioner.

As an engineering focused organisation, Winthrop has grown to become one of the leading and most trusted companies in our sector. We are currently constructing multiple Turnkey Data Centre Projects in 9 different European Countries, equating to over 320MW of IT load in flight.

We are pleased to announce that we are currently seeking an Environmental Manager. This position will be site-based in Dublin, Ireland.

Responsibilities

• Draft and review the project Environmental Management Plan and work with the site team to integrate the requirements effectively in conjunction with the client’s requirements and Winthrop’s wider corporate sustainability goals.
• Review all construction method statements, processes and procedures to ensure they have considered all environmental risks and mitigate them appropriately.
• Provide training to site staff regarding environmental and social issues
• Identify and implement spill kit provision and training requirements
• Perform (alongside H&S and Site Management) emergency practice scenarios, identify weaknesses in any existing approach and improvement plans
• Ensure that all drains and potential entry points to watercourses are protected. Assess that all onsite discharges to watercourses should run clean water only and take mitigating actions if required
• Liaise with Client LEED practitioner, coordinate collection of documentary evidence and site inspections to achieve targeted LEED certification of the project
