Job summary

TechHeads is recruiting a Director of AI & Governance to lead the enterprise AI strategy, governance and long-term roadmap at executive level. You will ensure AI becomes a driver of business performance and competitive advantage, working closely with the CIO and ELT to align strategy with broader technology goals.

The role requires senior leadership in AI/Transformation, with a proven ability to translate strategy into measurable outcomes, governance, risk management and stakeholder sponsorship

Qualifications

• Significant senior leadership experience within AI, Data, Digital, Technology, Automation or Transformation.
• Proven track record defining and executing enterprise AI strategy at scale.
• Previous experience operating at Director, Head of AI, VP or equivalent executive level.
• Demonstrable experience translating AI strategy and investment into measurable business outcomes.
• Strong understanding of AI governance, responsible AI, risk management and organisational controls.
• Proven experience influencing enterprise-wide priorities and managing complex stakeholder environments.
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to assess investment, opportunity and return.
• Exceptional executive presence, communication and influencing capability.
• Credibility operating with C-suite, Executive Leadership Teams and Boards.

Responsibilities

• Define and own the enterprise AI strategy, aligning with business and technology strategy.
• Establish the AI roadmap and strategic priorities, balancing ambition, investment and risk.
• Develop and embed a robust AI governance framework including ethics and controls.
• Advise CIO, ELT and senior stakeholders on AI strategy and delivery.
• Shape the organisation’s AI investment agenda with value realization.
• Define AI demand, prioritisation and benefits realization.
• Identify opportunities for AI to boost productivity and outcomes.
• Provide executive oversight to translate priorities into delivery.
• Define and evolve the future AI operating model and leadership capability.
• Foster enterprise-wide engagement and sponsorship for AI as a business transformation.
• Represent AI strategy at Executive and Board level with progress and value insights.
