Job summary

Dexcom Corporation in Ireland (Athenry) is seeking an Engineering Technician 3 to support engineers by analysing production data and testing electro-mechanical assemblies. This role will involve cross-functional collaboration with equipment deployment teams and outside suppliers to meet specifications.

You will retrieve yield data, operate robotic and vision systems, and document results while adhering to safety protocols.

Qualifications

  • Typically requires a Level 6/7 qualification and a minimum of 5-8 years of related experience.
  • Ability to read, analyse, and interpret common scientific and technical documents related to equipment specifications.
  • Experience with process improvement projects i.e. improving yields, reducing downtime.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Front End Days Shift Pattern

12-hour day shifts (7am - 7pm) every Monday to Wednesday and alternate Thursdays, following a repeating 4-on/3-off - 3-on/4-off schedule.

Role Overview

Under the direction of the Engineering Supervisor, the Engineering Technician 3 will provide support to engineers in analysing data across the production lines.

These duties include supporting cross functional equipment deployment teams while working with outside suppliers to meet equipment specifications and timelines.

Where you come in
  • You will retrieve and analyse engineering data such as yield performance results.
  • You will test performance of electro-mechanical assemblies, using test equipment
  • You will operate, test, or maintain robotic equipment and vision systems.
  • You will analyse and record test results, and prepare written documentation
  • You will perform operational test and fault isolation on automated systems and equipment.
  • You will carry out activities in equipment development under supervision of the project engineer.
  • These activities include the assembly and testing of equipment, fixtures, processes and/or electronics, completing engineering studies and validations.
  • You will follow Dexcom's Safety and Lock Out/Tag out (LOTO) program.
  • You will assume and perform other duties as assigned.
  • You will perform all assigned tasks with appropriate safety requirements.
  • You will update equipment related documentations (manuals, drawings, and specifications) as needed.
What makes you successful
  • You are experienced with problem solving methodologies such as A3s, 5 whys etc.
  • You have previous experience with Minitab and Tableau.
  • You have previous experience of supporting IQs and OQs.
  • Typically requires a Level 6/7 qualification and a minimum of 5-8 years of related experience
  • Ability to read, analyse, and interpret common scientific and technical documents related to equipment specifications
  • Ability to write routine reports, pass downs and correspondence
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from supervisors, engineers and managers
  • Experience with process improvement projects i.e. improving yields, reducing downtime
  • Proven ability to work hands-on in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and personal interaction skills
  • Knowledge of high reliability, high volume manufacturing equipment and processes
  • Technical writing skills as applied to manufacturing documentation and process development
  • Experienced in the creation and revision of technical documentation

Salary

The annualised base salary for this position is from €43,095.00 to €55,770.00 gross. Final offer will depend on your qualifications, competencies, and professional experience.
