Job summary

ASL Aviation Holdings is seeking a safety investigations professional to lead formal engineering investigations and support continuous improvement within the Safety Management System. The role will deputise the Safety Manager Airworthiness during leave or absence and engage with engineering personnel at all levels.

Reporting to the Safety Manager Airworthiness, you will prepare investigation reports, identify safety trends, and contribute to risk assessments and safety promotions across ASL’s

Qualifications

  • A relevant degree in engineering/aviation; or an EASA Part 66 licence.
  • Desirable 5 years’ aviation engineering experience in CAMO and/or P-145 environment
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills; ability to identify safety trends and contributing factors
  • Ability to work independently and to deadlines
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to engage with engineering personnel at all levels
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Safety Management Systems (SMS)
  • Experience in safety occurrence investigations and risk assessments

Responsibilities

  • Conduct formal engineering investigations, including interviews with engineering personnel
  • Prepare investigation reports and safety recommendations
  • Assist and oversee engineering investigations conducted by trained investigators
  • Identify and analyse safety trends arising from reported safety occurrences
  • Prepare periodic engineering safety reports and support the Safety Manager Airworthiness in hazard identification and risk assessments
  • Participate in safety promotion, utilizing lessons learnt from internal and industry investigations
  • Assist in administration of SafetyManager365 occurrence reporting and risk management modules
  • Deputise Safety Manager Airworthiness during periods of absence
  • Maintain competence through continuous education and training in the area of responsibility; the company will facilitate this process

Position

Reporting directly to the Safety Manager Airworthiness, this role focuses on investigating engineering-related safety occurrences and supporting continuous improvement within the ASLI Safety Management System. This role will deputise Safety Manager Airworthiness during periods of leave / absence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conducting formal Engineering Investigations, including interviews with engineering personnel

  • Assisting and overseeing Engineering Investigations conducted by trained investigators
  • Identifying and analysing safety trends arising from reported safety occurrences

  • Participating in Safety Promotion, utilising lessons learnt from internal and industry investigations
