Job description

Engineering Project Coordinator – Maternity Cover

Location: Drogheda, Co. Louth

Working Model: Onsite

Contract: Fixed-term maternity cover (12 months)

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Engineering Project Coordinator to join the Engineering team of a leading manufacturing organisation in Drogheda on a maternity cover contract.

This is a high-visibility role supporting a significant Engineering capital investment programme, with approximately 10 active capital projects running across the site.

The role is ideal for an organised and commercially aware project support professional who enjoys bringing structure to multiple projects, maintaining accurate reporting and financial information, coordinating stakeholders and ensuring actions are followed through.

This is not a Project Manager position. Larger and more complex CAPEX delivery will remain with the Engineering Manager and Contract Project Manager. Instead, you will provide the coordination, governance, reporting and financial tracking that keeps the Engineering project portfolio organised and moving forward.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain the Engineering CAPEX register and project portfolio tracker.
  • Monitor and report on project status, timelines, actions, risks and budget position.
  • Coordinate project meetings, review sessions and stakeholder updates.
  • Track actions and follow up with project owners to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Prepare project reports, governance updates, meeting packs and approval documentation.
  • Maintain project records, change logs, approval documentation and project schedules.
  • Track project expenditure against approved budgets and raise variances where required.
  • Support purchase requisitions, quotation requests, supplier follow-up and procurement activities.
  • Contribute to monthly OPEX and CAPEX reporting in collaboration with Finance.
  • Liaise with Engineering, Operations, Production, Quality, Supply Chain, Finance, Procurement and external suppliers.
  • Support contractor onboarding, site access, permits and project logistics where required.
  • Assist with project handover, close-out documentation and lessons learned.
  • Support selected lower-complexity projects and continuous improvement workstreams.
  • Maintain accurate project information and ensure risks, blockers and outstanding actions are escalated appropriately.
What We're Looking For

You will have a minimum of 2 years' experience in project coordination, project administration, engineering administration, manufacturing support or a similar technical environment.

  • Strong project coordination and organisational skills.
  • Experience managing multiple projects, workstreams or priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent attention to detail and follow-up skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Office capability, particularly Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Experience maintaining project trackers, reports, action logs or similar governance systems.
  • Experience tracking budgets, expenditure, purchase orders or procurement activity would be highly advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills and the confidence to follow up with stakeholders and hold people accountable for agreed actions.
  • The ability to identify and ...
  • A structured, proactive and collaborative approach.
  • Engineering or manufacturing
  • CAPEX projects
  • Automation
  • Maintenance or facilities
  • Construction
  • Operations or technical project environments

Experience with SAP, ERP, CMMS, project management or purchasing systems would also be advantageous.

A qualification in Engineering, Business, Project Management or a related discipline would be beneficial but is not essential.

What You'll Be Joining

You’ll work closely with the VP Engineering, Engineering team, Contract Project Manager and a broad range of stakeholders across the manufacturing operation.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants exposure to a significant capital investment programme and the opportunity to work across Engineering, Operations, Finance, Procurement, Quality and Supply Chain.

The successful candidate will play an important role in providing the structure, visibility and governance required to keep multiple engineering projects on track.
