The Role

As Engineering Manager, you will lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers, technicians and apprentices, with responsibility for their development, performance and technical direction.

Working closely with Production, Technical Operations, Quality and external maintenance providers, you will ensure manufacturing equipment performs reliably and meets the required engineering, quality, safety and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring strong engineering compliance and safe working practices across the operation.
Requirements
  • A Level 7 or higher qualification in Engineering, Chemistry or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum 6 years' experience within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Previous engineering leadership or supervisory experience, ideally with at least 2 years at Engineering Supervisor level or above.
  • Previous experience working within an API/active pharmaceutical ingredient manufacturing facility.
  • Strong experience with pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment.
  • Experience with glass-lined vessels, reactors, pumps and heat exchangers.
  • Knowledge and experience of ATEX environments and solvent handling.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience supporting engineering projects, equipment upgrades and continuous improvement.
