Job summary

TensorX in Dublin is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead and grow our product engineering team. Reporting to the CTO, you will hire, coach and deliver for engineers building our customer-facing platform, while staying close to code to earn trust with senior ICs.

This hands-on leadership role focuses on shipping, setting hiring standards, improving processes, and building a durable product organisation as we scale from a small team in a fast-moving AI scaleup.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in software engineering, including meaningful time as a senior IC on modern full-stack or platform product work.
• 2+ years leading engineers as a manager or equivalent (hiring, performance, coaching) in a startup or scaleup.
• Proven experience building or tightening hiring loops and raising the talent bar.
• Comfort defining process from first principles for a small team (Agile-informed).
• Clear written and spoken communicator who can work with a CTO and senior engineers.
• Experience shipping SaaS or developer-facing products in production.

Responsibilities

• People leadership - Hire, onboard, coach and performance-manage engineers; run 1:1s and grow senior ICs.
• Hiring bar - Define what “good” looks like; design interview loops and build a diverse, high-performing team.
• Delivery & process - Establish lightweight, reliable ways of working to improve predictability.
• Technical leadership - Guide architectural decisions, review designs and keep quality high.
• Product partnership - Turn roadmap intent into sequenced engineering work with stakeholders.
• Cross-team collaboration - Coordinate with backend, inference and platform teams; APIs alignment.
• Operational excellence - Monitor capacity, focus and engineering effectiveness; surface risks.
• Culture & craft - Champion testing, code review and reliability.
