Job summary

Sanmina Ireland is seeking a senior Engineering Team Lead to supervise engineers and technicians, develop manufacturing procedures, and raise the technical capability of the team.

You will drive process improvements, support new product introductions, ensure health and safety compliance, and deliver output and yield targets while mentoring staff. A strong Lean/Six Sigma mindset and excellent communication are essential.

Qualifications

• NFQ Level 8 in Engineering or equivalent with suitable experience.
• 5+ years experience in a similar engineering role in a production environment.
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Excellent equipment knowledge and attention to detail.
• Experience with safety and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and lead a team of engineers and technicians.
• Develop key manufacturing engineering procedures and processes.
• Develop the technical expertise of the team.
• Drive operational excellence through engineering activities within the team.
• Achieve output and yield targets for assigned production lines.
• Manage, mentor and develop technical resources.
• Monitor machine performance in real time to maximize production output.
• Develop, drive and support projects as required.
• Identify areas for process improvement.
• Support and lead new product builds as required.
• Procedure and system updates implementation for designated products/lines.
• Provide DFM input on new product developments as required.
• Liaise with equipment suppliers and perform machine acceptance tests.
• Liaise with other departments on machine/process operation, safety and environment.
• Attend customer visits and present on performance and process improvements.
• Produce and manage training plan for the team.
• Produce capacity plans for products through manufacturing process.

Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Safety, Quality, Demand and Yield targets for assigned Production Lines.
• Performance Improvements in the above.
• Development of Procedures and Processes.
• Completion of Tasks/Projects against set objectives in Performance Review.
• Completion of In-house Training Program.

PERSONNEL SPECIFICATIONS

ESSENTIAL:

• NFQ Level 8 in Engineering or lower level degree with suitable experience.
• 5+ years experience in a similar Engineering Role in a Production Environment.
