Job summary

Accenture Utilities in Ireland seeks a Management Consultant to help utilities navigate energy markets, design market structures, and accelerate the energy transition for clients and communities.

You will work with Ireland's leading energy, gas and water organisations on transformation programmes, regulatory challenges, and cross-functional delivery, building trusted relationships and delivering practical, actionable recommendations.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate/Master’s degree in business, engineering, technical or economic field.
• 4-7 years of relevant utility experience in energy market operations, market design, regulatory policy, or trading environments, or 3-5 years in a consulting role with energy market engagements.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment across a wide variety of projects and roles to deliver for our clients.
• Ability to build lasting relationships with clients and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Support strategic initiatives for utilities clients to meet decarbonisation, resilience and sustainability objectives.
• Support high-quality consulting engagements and transformation programmes across the utilities sector.
• Collaborate within multi-functional project teams, coordinating workstream activities across the engagement lifecycle.
• Apply expertise in energy market design, wholesale trading, balancing mechanisms or settlement processes to support design and implementation of solutions.
• Support resource planning, budgeting, and forecasting activities within the engagement context.
• Contribute to integrated project and programme planning, ensuring coherent workstream coordination across engagements.
• Identify and elevate risks, assumptions, issues and dependencies, supporting their effective management.
• Prepare and present clear, structured analysis and insights for client and internal stakeholders.
• Collaborate with client teams and colleagues across business, technology and operations to align goals and outcomes.
• Build trusted relationships with client stakeholders to understand challenges and address needs.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, quality and impact of engagements.
• Develop deep expertise across utilities to provide informed guidance and contribute to thought leadership.
• Support business development including solution scoping, proposal development, and client presentations.
