Job summary

Bord Gáis Energy is seeking a Data Science & Analytics Manager to lead a team of data scientists and analytics specialists within its Data CoE. The role involves shaping strategy, delivering diagnostics and prescriptive analytics, and translating business priorities into high-quality models and actionable insight.

The position is hybrid with 2 days per week at the Warrington Place office, reporting to the Head of the Data CoE, and focuses on measurable business outcomes and stakeholder

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in senior data science or analytics leadership.
• Proven ability to balance urgent business needs with scalable, governed capability.
• Experience with Databricks, Python, SQL and large cloud data environments.
• Experience across the ML lifecycle; generative AI or NLP is advantageous.
• Knowledge of billing, CRM, digital data; Oracle CC&B and Salesforce experience is relevant.
• Ability to work cross-functionally to deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Strong leadership, mentoring and communication for senior management.
• Working knowledge of GDPR and privacy, governance and risk.

Responsibilities

• Shape and articulate data science strategy with the Head of the Data CoE.
• Build trusted stakeholder relationships and transparent demand processes.
• Lead design, testing, productionisation of automated analytics products.
• Develop governed datasets and scalable cloud analytics with cross-teams.
• Ensure models are accurate, explainable, monitored and maintained.
• Maintain knowledge of business units and hand-off to value realisation.
• Anticipate needs, lead complex analysis with clear findings and actions.
• Promote responsible use of data and AI within governance and privacy.
• Retire manual processes where automation adds value.
• Lead, coach and develop the team with clear objectives and mentoring.
