Job summary

Western Care Association in Mayo is seeking dedicated Social Care Assistants to help individuals live meaningful, independent lives in a safe and respectful environment.

You will work with individuals, families and multidisciplinary teams to promote equality, advocacy, and personal goals, with emphasis on dignity, inclusion and high quality care. Full driving license required; 39 hours per week; closing date Sept 29, 2026.

Qualifications

• Formal qualifications are not mandatory for Social Care Assistant positions.
• We are seeking applicants who demonstrate compassionate, respectful and person-centred support.
• Experience in social care is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals to live meaningful and fulfilling lives in a safe, inclusive environment.
• Work with individuals, families and multidisciplinary teams to promote independence, equality and personal goals.
• Advocate for individuals’ needs, preferences and rights and contribute to Individual Plans.
• Contribute to local service planning and respond to changing service needs.
