Job summary

Western Care Association in County Mayo seeks dedicated Social Care Assistants to support people to live meaningful lives within a safe, inclusive setting. You will collaborate with individuals, families and multidisciplinary teams to promote independence, equality and personal goals while contributing to Individual Plans.

This permanent part-time role (26.25 hours per week plus sleep-ins) offers a salary scale from €32,542 to €45,161 per annum and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Formal qualifications are not mandatory for Social Care Assistant positions.
• We are interested in applicants who demonstrate compassionate, respectful and person-centred support.
• Previous experience in a social care setting is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals to live meaningful and fulfilling lives in a safe, inclusive environment.
• Advocate for individuals' needs, preferences and rights and contribute to Individual Plans.
• Work with individuals, families and multidisciplinary teams to promote independence and quality of life.
• Provide personal care and practical support to individuals as required.
• Contribute to local service planning and respond to changing service needs.
• Promote safety and uphold the organisation's Dignity at Work and Health & Safety requirements.
