Job summary

Kerry Parents and Friends Association in Ireland is seeking a Relief Support Worker on a fixed-term basis. The role involves day, evening, and night shifts, delivering person-centered care and supporting adults with intellectual disabilities to achieve greater independence.

Applicants should have QQI Level 5 in Healthcare Support, a genuine passion for empowerment, and strong communication skills. Training, equality commitments, and a supportive team environment are offered.

Qualifications

• QQI Level 5 in Healthcare Support or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience with adults with intellectual disability or similar care setting.
• Driver’s licence desirable and willingness to drive Association vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Plan and set meaningful goals addressing personal, social, recreational and independent living needs.
• Provide physical, emotional, psychological and healthcare support with dignity and respect.
• Maintain accurate records and complete reports in line with GDPR and HIQA requirements.
• Support life skills development through activities and classes to promote independence.
