Job summary

Saint John of God Community Services, Dublin South East, invites applications for a Programme Assistant in Day Services. Salary scale 34,881–48,434 EUR and pro-rata annual leave are offered.

Positions are available as Full Time and Part Time in Dublin South East area. Proactive engagement in meaningful activities and community participation is expected, with emphasis on rights, consent, and person-centred planning.

Qualifications

• QQI Level 5 qualification required.
• Experience working with adults with intellectual disabilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Understanding of person-centred planning process.

Responsibilities

• Identify and promote opportunities for meaningful participation and integration for service users in their community.
• Understand rights, informed consent and due process; apply Human Rights Based Approach.
• Support advocacy initiatives and involve service users in decision making.
• Involve service users' natural supports in the person-centred planning process.
• Support service users with personal care as needed.
• Ensure accurate record keeping as required.
• Support service users and health plans, providing feedback to clinicians as required.
• Respond promptly to incidents and follow reporting procedures; assist in investigations and risk assessments.
• Support implementation of Positive Behaviour Plans and communication strategies.
• Promote visual and non-verbal communication among service users, staff and supports.
