Job summary

WEX Inc. seeks a Head of Regulated Entities, EMEA to oversee governance and operations of its EMI entities across Ireland and the UK. You will liaise with major regulators and drive strategic initiatives with the ELT to strengthen regulatory resilience and governance.

You will lead in IT oversight, risk management, and stakeholder engagement, while fostering AI-enabled process improvements across multi-jurisdictional teams.

Qualifications

• Progressive leadership experience in operations, legal, compliance, or risk management within a regulated financial services environment.
• Proven track record of executive leadership within a regulated payments or card issuing environment.
• Extensive experience managing Outsourced Service Providers (OSPs) in compliance with outsourcing guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Regulatory governance & oversight of EMIs across EMEA.
• Liaise with regulators (CBI, FCA) ensuring alignment with regulatory expectations.
• Oversee operational resilience for OFEL and OFL, including third-party providers.
• Oversee outsourcing and service delivery oversight with OSPs and vendors.
• Direct IT and data security oversight for continuous service delivery.
• Maintain IAF certification and ongoing regulatory oversight.
• Lead strategic initiatives and cross-border governance with the ELT and boards.
• Manage budgets and personnel for Ireland and UK operations.
• Champion AI and process automation to modernise regulatory operations.
• Communicate performance and risks to Group ELT and boards.
• Foster stakeholder relationships with partners and regulators.
• Provide people leadership and coaching for Ireland- and UK-based staff.
