Job summary

AMD seeks an experienced Senior Manager, Financial Accounting to join the EMEA Finance organization on a 12 to 15 month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave. This role reports to the Finance Director and leads a small international team across Ireland, the Nordics, Benelux, and Eastern Europe, ensuring accurate US GAAP and Local GAAP reporting while driving process excellence.

Key responsibilities include overseeing month-end close, statutory compliance, audits, and driving automation

Qualifications

• Qualified Accountant with ACA/ACCA/CPA/CIMA or equivalent.
• Big 4 audit training is required.
• Significant post-qualification experience in a multinational environment.
• Strong technical accounting expertise across US GAAP and Local GAAP reporting.
• Experience managing statutory audits and regulatory compliance in multiple European jurisdictions.
• Experience leading and developing international teams.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements and operational efficiencies.
• Advanced knowledge of SAP S/4HANA.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Financial Reporting & Controllership - Lead month-, quarter-, and year-end close for assigned EMEA entities with US GAAP reporting; oversee statutory reporting and annual financial statements; manage US GAAP to Local GAAP reconciliations and bridge analyses.
• Statutory Compliance & External Reporting - Oversee statutory audits; coordinate with external auditors and tax/legal teams; ensure timely regulatory submissions including R&D credits.
• Team Leadership - Lead a geographically dispersed team: Dublin, Spain, Finland; provide coaching and technical guidance.
• Process Improvement & Automation - Identify opportunities to simplify and automate accounting processes; leverage SAP S/4HANA, BlackLine, Workiva, Power BI, AI tools.
• Business Partnership & Special Projects - Partner with Finance, Tax, Payroll, Treasury, Legal, HR, and Operations; support restructurings, M&A, and expansion projects.
