Job summary

Eaton is seeking a field service engineer in Ireland to lead installation projects and oversee 3rd party providers, ensuring MV equipment operates at peak performance. You will support fellow engineers and act as the main customer contact during project execution.

The role involves travel across the EMEA region and periods of home-based administrative work, with candidates based anywhere in Ireland, the UK, the Netherlands, Poland or Romania near a major airport.

Qualifications

• Higher Diploma or a Degree in Electrical Engineering.

In this role, you’ll be the face of Eaton for our customers leading installation projects and oversee 3rd party providers , supporting fellow engineers, and ensuring our MV equipment operates at peak performance. If you thrive in a hands‑on, customer‑facing environment and have a strong technical background, we want to hear from you.

This position will typically consist of 1 week travel to our customers in the EMEA region (typically within Data Center, Utilities or Oil&Gas) and 1 week working from home performing administrative tasks.

Successful candidates can be based anywhere in Ireland, UK, Netherlands, Poland or Romania, ideally in close proximity to a major airport.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead installation and perform maintenance & commissioning, testing and fault finding of Eaton-manufactured MV and HV equipment
• Act as the primary point of contact for customers during project execution
• Support and mentor other service engineers, fostering a culture of safety and excellence
• Collaborate with project management to meet delivery targets and enhance customer satisfaction

Qualifications

• Higher Diploma or a Degree in Electrical Engineering

Skills

• Experience in Power Distribution testing and commissioning
• Must be able to test and commission large Medium Voltage to High Voltage installations
• Ability to perform protection relay programming
• Strong IT and computer literacy with attention to detail
• Ability to respond to breakdowns and drive resolution
• Leadership skills and a desire to coach and develop others
• Flexibility to travel and stay away as needed across EMEA region
