Job summary

Sigmar Recruitment is helping a client fill an Accounting Manager role in Dublin. You will join the EMEA Controller Team within a US multinational, reporting to the Finance Director and leading a small team of 2–3 accountants.

You will oversee monthly, quarterly and year‑end close, balance sheet and P&L ownership, fixed assets, US GAAP lease accounting, and external audits across Europe and the US.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified accountant with an ACA or ACCA qualification.
• Ideally 5 years+ post‑qualification experience.
• Strong experience in financial statement preparation and financial accounting.
• Good working knowledge of GAAP; US GAAP experience is highly desirable.
• Previous leadership or team management experience.
• Experience with audit, tax, VAT, balance sheet reconciliations and financial close processes.
• Excellent English communication skills.
• Ability to meet immovable deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Manage and develop a team of 2–3 qualified accountants.
• Oversee financial accounting activities, including monthly, quarterly and year-end close processes.
• Take ownership of the balance sheet and profit and loss accounts, including reconciliations and quarter‑end reporting.
• Manage fixed asset accounting and US GAAP lease accounting for the relevant entities.
• Coordinate statutory audits, US GAAP year‑end audit clearance and financial statement preparation.
• Oversee corporate income tax returns, tax audits, tax authority enquiries and tax compliance activities.
• Manage VAT compliance and reporting.
• Lead cash flow and balance sheet forecasting, cash management and bank reconciliations.
• Ensure compliance with Sarbanes‑Oxley requirements and corporate financial policies.
• Support M&A integration activities and other ad hoc finance projects.
• Work closely with European Controllers, A/P, A/R, Payroll, Treasury, Corporate Accounting, Tax and external advisers across multiple locations and time zones.
