Job summary

Semiconductor Giant in Cork, Ireland, is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer – Integration to advance chipset software in a dynamic, collaborative team.

You will work on integration of drivers and peripheral software, verify stability, and help deliver scalable build systems while interfacing with hardware and systems engineering to meet performance KPIs.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of industry experience in embedded software development and/or integration.
• Experience in software integration, source control, and testing.
• Working knowledge of real-time operating systems (RTOS).
• Experience developing software in C, C++, and assembly.
• Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python or Perl.

Responsibilities

• Interact closely with cross-functional software teams to verify and debug software stability issues and features.
• Design and implement scalable build system software and tools used to generate various image flavors.
• Collaborate with HW and Systems Engineering teams to ensure Core Platform software meets power and performance KPIs.
• Collaborate with program management and product leads to develop software product roadmaps and delivery plans that reduce time to market.

Embedded Software Engineer | integration / RTOS | Cork, Ireland

A world-renowned Semiconductor Giant is looking to hire a Senior Embedded Software Engineer – Integration to join their dynamic team in Cork, Ireland.

This position sits within the Products and Integration Team, driving existing and future chipset technology to success. You will work on cutting-edge projects in a highly interactive environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams to capture software architecture requirements, integrate drivers and peripheral software, triage system-level issues, and propose effective solutions.

Responsibilities

• Interact closely with cross-functional software teams to verify and debug software stability issues and features.
• Design and implement scalable build system software and tools used to generate various image flavors.
• Collaborate with HW and Systems Engineering teams to ensure Core Platform software meets power and performance KPIs.
• Collaborate with program management and product leads to develop software product roadmaps and delivery plans that reduce time to market.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of industry experience in embedded software development and/or integration.
• Experience in software integration, source control, and testing.
• Working knowledge of real-time operating systems (RTOS).
• Experience developing software in C, C++, and assembly.
• Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python or Perl.
• Excellent critical thinking abilities alongside sharp debugging skills.
• Strong communication and collaborative skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Working knowledge of JTAG for on-chip debugging.
• Experience with build systems (e.g., SCons, CMake).
• Hands-on experience with software source control systems such as Git, Gerrit, GitHub, or Perforce.
• Previous experience in low-level embedded software development and device drivers.
• Exposure to or experience working with the Zephyr Open-Source RTOS.
