Job summary

Gymnastics Ireland is seeking an experienced Wellbeing & Wellness Contractor to deliver structured, evidence-based wellbeing support to carded, HP athletes across all disciplines. The contract operates with professional independence, aligned with GI's safeguarding and data protection obligations, reporting to the Director of Performance & Technical.

The role covers athlete welfare, monitoring, and engagement with athlete voice structures within GI's framework, including return-to-play

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of athlete welfare principles, duty of care, and safeguarding in sport.
• Experience of confidential case management and appropriate referral pathways.
• Familiarity with the psychological demands of performance sport.
• Ability to work independently within a structured framework and integrate within a multidisciplinary team.
• Demonstrated experience with elite or high-performance athletes in welfare or wellbeing roles.
• Familiarity with Sport Ireland's Athlete Welfare Policy and HP structures.
• Experience working with young athletes transitioning from junior to senior.
• Knowledge of growth and maturation considerations in adolescent athlete wellbeing.
• Experience contributing to performance programme policy or framework development.

Responsibilities

• Provide wellbeing support to HP athletes within GI's welfare framework.
• Monitor wellbeing and report on athlete welfare indicators.
• Engage with athlete voice structures and referral pathways as needed.
• Work within safeguarding, data protection, and GI protocols.
• Collaborate with GI's Safe Sport Team and HP coaching staff as required.
